Plaque...Dentists' (and Donors') Best Friend

Today was plaque day in the philanthropy office. I got to go over to the main building and talk to a nice guy in maintenance about installing a donor recognition plaque in a waiting room. You have to love old maintenance guys...they're the sweetest things... doing what they've always done (handiwork) and happy to be there doing it.

Well, besides that, I got an old plaque shipped to me that was taken down when some construction happened in the particular department where it was housed. So, I call the department and talk to "B", the chairman's secretary. First, I ask her to speak with the chairman's secretary and she says, "I am". All well and good, but she's supposed to introduce herself when she first answered the phone, (pardon my new person anal syndrome), so i ask her name. So then I ask her if Dr. so and so is still the chairman (i'm new here, and I heard the guy in my directory isn't the chairman anymore). Here's how the conversation went:

Her: No, we have a new chairman

Me: Oh, a new chairman?

Her: Yes
Me: Who is the new chairman (duh... like i have to ASK???)

Her: Dr. so and so

Me: Ok, great, well, I have a plaque that was in the conference
room in your department before the new suite construction, and we'd like to reinstall it in the department. Is there a new conference room or another appropriate place for us to install it?

Her: We have a lunch room that we use as a conference room, but maybe you should email dr. so and so for his input.

Me: Great, i'll do that. I'll also CC you so you know what's going on.

Her: Ok

Me: What's your email address?

Her: You can just type my name

Me: Ok, so I'll send you both an email and we'll see what happens from there.

Her: Ok

SOOOOOO... I send them both this mega anal grammar email about the whole story, and I request a receipt that they've read it. Because doctors don't ever answer their emails or voicemails. I just got an email response from her that it was NOT read, and DELETED without reading... I haven't gotten a response that HIS was read... I mean, maybe she gets all his emails, so that I didn't HAVE to cc her... but still... she could have TOLD me that I didn't have to cc her... this just looks like she never read it at all (or the Dr. either) and just deleted it... I'm pissed.
