So, I'm in my cousin Kelly's wedding and (of course) I'm overloading myself with stuff to do for her shower. Yes, my aunt has bought a lot of stuff we need, and she and I came up with all the ideas together, and she and my uncle made about 50 jars of jams and jellies for the favors and gift basket centerpieces. The MOH is mailing the invitations this weekend. That's about it. She's not even taking the RSVPs. My aunt is. I don't want to be pissy about this, but I don't think that I should have to pay as much as everyone else, because I'm doing all the work!! I'll pay my portion for the venue/food, but I'm not too keen on paying towards the favors, centerpieces, invitations, and any other little things since I'm doing all the work. Granted, I could schedule out some time and have other people come help me... but I'm too busy to do that. It's just easier to do it at my own pace - and if that means 10:00 PM while I'm watching my recorded soaps...then so be it.
Maybe I'm overreacting... I dunno. Maybe it's my own fault because if you really know me, I'm a perfectionist, which makes me not trust anyone to do anything (sorta like my aunt, now that I think of it...LOL) But anyway, here is the list of things to do:
1. cut out fabric squares for 46 jars of grape jelly (for favors)
2. cut out fabric squares for 21 jars of assorted jams (for baskets)
3. secure fabric squares on all 67 jars with elastic bands
4. create favor hang tags for the 46 favor jars
5. attach favor hang tags to the 46 favor jars with raffia bows
6. tie raffia bows onto 21 jars of assorted jams (no tags)
7. create cute labels for all 67 jars (this was at my urging... I thought the labels that came with the jars were ugly)
8. stick labels on the 67 jars
9. attach a honey stirrer to each of 7 honey jars with elastic bands and raffia bows
10. put 12 assorted tea bags into each of 7 organza bags
11. "clean", personalize, paint and glaze 14 teabag rests
12. roll up 7 pairs of napkins and tie with ribbon or raffia
13. create labels or hang tags for 7 mini loaf breads (made by Mike's mom)
14. Assemble all these items (and more) into gift baskets to be used as centerpieces.
I think that's worth the extra $25 or so that my aunt wants to get towards the baskets and favors from everyone... don't you??
