I'm looking up things to do on my day trip while I'm out in Vegas. I think i've decided that I'm going to the Hoover Dam (so I can take a DAM tour and DAM pictures...lol). I've looked into the DAM tour online and it seems really interesting (to be able to actually walk the tunnels in the dam). I also want to visit Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. I'm hoping I can do both things in one day (I only have the car rental for one day!). If I leave early enough in the morning, I should be able to do both and be back to meet Mrs. D. and company for dinner. That will be Tuesday's adventure. On Monday, I'll do the whole Vegas touristy thing (and some gambling and imbibing, I'm sure). I wish I didn't have to fly back so early on Wednesday. That's going to suck. I leave NV at 1:00 in the afternoon, and I don't get into Boston until Midnight. That's going to be a freakin long day. Then I have to get into Parrot Head mode for the Jimmy Buffett concert on Thursday night.
Since I'm in vacation mode already, I'm going to share a "bucket list" item with you... not to be confused with the 1001 days list. This is something I want to do at SOME POINT in my life:
I want to go to Israel... let it be known that if I haven't made it there before my 40th birthday, I want cold hard cash to put towards a trip there. (this, and a cake from Truly Jorg's in Saugus, as noted in a previous post). A friend of mine recently went there and, today, I saw some pics a friend of a friend posted on facebook. This has strengthened my resolve to visit the holy land, as scary and dangerous and foolish as my mom would make it out to be. What a beautiful place to visit with such rich history. The birthplace of many faiths - especially my own!!
