So, I'm slowly getting back into cake decorating mode. My friend Jill asked me if I would make her wedding cake for July 09 and I enthusiastically said yes. Then, she asked me to be a bridesmaid. I'm a little scared about taking on both tasks, only because the wedding is an hour away from me, and transport/set up of a cake will be difficult, along with getting ready for the wedding. But, I think i'm up for the challenge. If I budget my time correctly (good luck to me!) it should all work out fine...as long as I can deliver the cake to the reception location early enough for me to get all my primping done. I don't think I can trust anyone else to do the delivery...and if there has to be any decorating that has to be done on site, there's no way someone else can do it. She's looking to do something a bit more contemporary...which is exciting for me... she wants tiffany blue. I'm coming up with photos for her to get some ideas. I'll probably use my deerfield fair entry this year as a test/sample of this cake.
In other cake news... I'm going to make brian's birthday cake with an indiana jones theme. I also have to come up with something cool for gale's birthday. Last cake I did for Gale was sushi (and it wasn't even her birthday!!) Better get cracking on that idea...her BD is next week!!!
