no processed, whole food experiment

So eliminating processed food is on my list of 101 things. I want to be able to go a straight week without eating anything processed or artificially preserved. In the meantime, I'm also trying to eat as local and organic as possible. I'm a food mess right now. I don't know WTF I am... I know I have to take one cause at a time, but they seem so intertwined that I'm just doing it all.

Anyway, I declared Saturday as my start day for no processed foods. Here's what has gone on since then:

Saturday
Breakfast - Kashi Go Lean Crisp with almond milk
Lunch - apple with almond butter (not really a "lunch", I know... but I got a late start to the day)
Dinner - Farmer Dave's mom's Vegetable Loaf

Sunday - FAIL
Breakfast - Kashi Strawberry Fields with almond milk
Lunch - I ate a ton of bbq at the phantom gourmet bbq beach fest, including: brisket, ribs, chicken, pulled pork, beer and a "dynamite stick" from Wholly Cannoli. I tried to justify all this by saying, "it's locally made! It's home made!" But truthfully, I have no idea what was in all those YUMMY sauces or the cannoli thing.
Dinner - didn't exist because of all the BBQ I ate.

sooo... I declare TODAY as my new starting day

Monday- partial fail (you decide)
Breakfast - Kashi Strawberry Fields with Almond milk
Lunch - slice of Vegetable Loaf with salad (red leaf lettuce, cucumber, snow peas, edamame, feta). I topped this with freaking catalina dressing... before even looking at the ingredients. What's the first ingredient??? HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. Freakin A man... Looks like I need to find some salad dressing recipes!!!
Dinner (planned, we'll see what happens though) - Cannellini Bean, Red Onion and Arugula Salad and some chicken from my mom's chicken cacciatore.

I need to cook my hakurei turnips and I think I'll make Curried Turnips to go with some chicken to have for dinner some time this week.

Also planned this week: Garlic Scape Pesto with pasta, Quinoa Salad with Tomatoes, Feta, Apples & Almonds, and I'll have to see what's in this week's CSA share to plan the rest.

I need more ideas for recipes that can be frozen, as well as how to preserve/freeze/store some things that I can't use right away.

You might try annie's naturals dressing or newmans own. Even though it's technically processed it is very minimal.

I use Tastefully Simple Balsamic and Basil Dipping Oil as my salad dressing. It is all natural and delicious. I also make my own by mixing olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Tastefully Simple Seasoned Salt (all natural) or Tastefully Simple Garlic Pepper Seasoning Blend (all natural) and grated Parmesan cheese.

I actually just had a fantastic balsamic that I made last night. It was from the Cannellini Bean, red onion and arugula salad recipe on Farmer Dave's recipe blog. Basically it's olive oil, balsamic vinegar, basil, salt, pepper and paprika.
