It was friggin HOT in class last night. We had to use the upstairs studio because the dance studio is holding summer workshop classes this week. (side note: oh how I miss tap dancing! Just hearing the drills going on brought back so many fond memories... Thank you to the Eleanor Rubino Academy of Performing Arts. Sorry I didn't stick with it and stay (relatively) skinny). I do know the owner of this studio trained with Eleanor as well so, when the time comes that there is a little princess in my life, this is the studio where she's going to train.
So, the instructor "forgot" to turn on the A/C before class (remember, heat rises!) and we were all sweating like hogs by the second song.
Anyway, I'm about ready to search for another class. The girl is nice enough but, like I said in a previous post, she is B-O-R-I-N-G. Her class is not the "dance party" that Zumba is advertised to be. Not only that, but she keeps forgetting her own routines. I mean, not seriously forgetting, but starting to do some move and then stopping and doing something else so that we're all freaking confused. And because she doesn't TALK we have to figure it out monkey see-monkey do style. That's pretty hard when you're jumping around like you're on crack and she all of a sudden changes wtf she's doing.
At least there were 6 of us in class this week. However, they all know each other - including the instructor. So, not only do I feel like the fat old lady in the back, I feel like an outsider. This isn't going to fly much longer with me.
I have one more class paid in advance. I'm in the process of finding other classes to try after next week.
