Anticipated CSA Items for Week 3

Just got my email update from Farmer Dave's about what we can expect to be in this week's share. I have to admit, when I went there last week I was like, "Gee, 1 zucchini...WTF do I do with 1 zucchini?" But so far, all my veggies have lasted all week (and then some, when cooked and then frozen). Now to plan a menu for the next 7 days. Here's what is expected this week:

Arugula
I really like arugula. I like the bite it gives to my salad and I already made Cannellini Bean, Red Onion, Arugula salad this week (which I enjoyed very much).

Hakurei Turnips
I ate the greens off the turnips from last week, but still have the turnips. I'll have to find something quick to do with these because I don't think making a double batch of curried turnips is going to keep me interested.

Green Leaf Lettuce
I've been enjoying salad more than I usually do. It could just be because of the summer weather but who cares? I'm just about out of lettuce and welcome this week's variety.

Peas
I froze last week's peas, and was going to give the other bunch of peas from last week to my uncle, but my mother never got them to him. Maybe I'll give him some this week and freeze the left over ones from last week.

Zucchini
I'm psyched to get more zucchini. I want to make a giambotta. For those not in-the-know, a giambotta is an italian vegetable stew. My grandmother used to make it with zucchini, tomatoes, onions and garlic. Sometimes string beans were thrown in there, or potatoes. I still have a kousa squash from last week, so I'll probably do zucchini/kousa giambotta. My mom says peas don't go in giambotta, but I just might prove her wrong.

Garlic Scapes
I still have my whole bunch from last week. I still have the scape pesto that I made 2 weeks ago. Don't know what to do with these now. Maybe destined for the swap box.
